Andrea Smiljanić is a motivated and creative architect & urban designer with experience in architecture, urbanism, landscaping, interior & industrial design. But she is also a passionate dancer, photographer, and traveler.
Born in Sarajevo and studied architecture and urbanism in Prague & Oporto, it all have proved her desire to understand different cultures and locations.
In 2009, Andrea started her work experience in the field by working on site as a full-time assistant to a site manager. Since University graduation in 2012, she had gained over 3 years of experience as an Architect across Europe, working in the Czech Republic, Belgium and The Netherlands. Delivered various projects from winning competitions, and worked on other from feasibility, planning, technical documentation, and construction with significant knowledge across a wide range of sectors and various scales.
Following steps led her to The United Kingdom. With a short departure from architectural profession, she gained experience in apprenticeship scheme in 2015, where she was supporting engineering, carpentry, brickwork, and other departments, while rethinking her career.
Once realized that she missed architectural field, she applied for architectural position and since January 2016 she has been working for Project 3 Architects in Altrincham on multi-scale projects, where she has grown as a professional. She also completed her Part III at RIBA North West by winning Haydn Smith Award for the best worldwide candidate & submission in 2018.
Andrea believes that a successful architectural project requires a team-working process by bringing wide range of professionals and experience from inception till completion, including project’s lifetime later on.
The Pride Road Franchise grew out of Founder Lisa Raynes’ refusal to accept that there was only one way for a woman to have an architecture career and a family life. She built her practice in the domestic sector, and then invested to turn her business into one that other ambitious architects wanting work/life balance can buy into. She’s had a seat on the RIBA Council (2015-18), been Chair of Women in Property NW and founded Manchester Curious, an urban architecture outreach festival. A key focus of the Pride Road Franchise business in a box is the fully-automated customer relation management system, this system helps lead a flow of new clients to our franchisees.
